THE ORIGINAL CHARLES OF THE RITZ WAS LAUCHED IN 1977. The scent we offer on this page was designed after thoroughly analyzing the original Charles of the Ritz perfume which was launched, as I understand it, in 1977, and should not be confused with Ritz Classic or Ritz Classic Light, though some bottles of Ritz Classic were bottled with Charles of the Ritz Original perfume for women. A reputable vendor on eBay says some bottles marked Ritz Classic were filled with the Charles of the Ritz Original perfume. In other words, these were mismarked in the warehouse. I perceive that this mistake may have been one of the factors that contributed to the discontinuance of these perfumes.
